  • Student employees gather with librarians in the McGinnis Room.

Student Assistants play a vital role in the staffing of Briggs Library. They enable the library to be open 99 hours a week during the academic year and perform a variety of tasks necessary for providing key services and maintaining collections and equipment.

The library departments who employ student assistants include: Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Technology Support, Archives & Special Collections and Collection & Materials Processing. More information about these individual positions can be found below.

Please note that the library welcomes applications for student positions throughout the year, even if there are no current openings. This ongoing file of applications facilitates efficient replacement for openings that may occur mid-year. There are paper applications available form the library director. If you are interested in working in the library, please complete a paper application (checking the boxes for all the library positions for which you would like to apply). Following that, you'll be directed to the UMM Student Employment site, which will guide applicants through the next steps in the application process.
