Renewing Materials

All library users who are affiliated with the University of Minnesota and are issued U-Cards may renew their library materials by logging onto “My Library Account” and checking the summary page, which lists loans, requests, fines and fees, blocks and messages and personal settings. UMM affiliated library users can choose to renew all loans or renew selected items by checking the appropriate boxes next to the titles. New due dates will appear. If another patron has recalled an item or the maximum renewal time has been reached, the renewal will not be successful. Renewal of interlibrary loan items must be done by contacting the Briggs' Interlibrary Loan Manager.

Students may renew general collection items up to a maximum of 6 months. Faculty and Staff may renew general collection items up to a maximum of 24 months. Check the Checking Out and Returning Materials page for appropriate information for other collections.

Community patrons with a Briggs Library generated paper library card may renew items by bringing them into the library or by contacting the library. New due date information will be sent via e-mail.

Items may be brought in to the library and personally renewed as well.
