Staff Employment at Briggs Library

Briggs Library invites applications for the position of Serials and Processing Manager. Duties include managing the library’s print and online journal collections, playing a central role in processing print materials to be added to the collection and contributing to the maintenance of the library’s digital collections.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities
This position requires five year of relevant experience; college education can be substituted for experience on a year for year basis up to three years; ability to shelve and shift physical library materials; ability to deal courteously with library users; ability to use basic computer software applications; attention to detail in an environment with repetitive tasks; demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to diverse student populations and the ability to contribute to the University’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities
Bachelor's degree; experience working on a college campus; experience working in a library; experience using Microsoft Access, Excel and Word; demonstrated problem-solving and multi-tasking skills; demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff; flexibility, willingness to learn and openness to change.
